Chelsea Sanker successfully defended her dissertation, entitled "Patterns of Misperception of Arabic Guttural and Non-guttural Consonants" and is headed to Rutgers University to teach for the upcoming year.

Jixing Li (with Sam Tilsen), Phonetic evidence for two types of disfluency.
Abby Cohn and Sam Tilsen: Relation between syllable count judgments and durations of English liquid rimes.
Sam Tilsen: Structured nonstationarity in articulatory timing.

Okki Kurniawan presenting at 13-ICAL

Okki Kurniawan, co-authored with Abby Cohn, is presenting their paper "The status of schwa in Jakarta Indonesian: Corpus and phonetic evidence" at The 13th International Conference on Austronesian Linguistics (13-ICAL). Okki will also be presenting his paper "Investigating Colloquial Indonesian: Nasal assimilation differences in Betawi Malay and Jakarta Indonesian". 13-ICAL this year will be held at Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, from July 18-23, 2015.

Chelsea Sanker was just at the 169th meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in Pittsburgh on May 21st to present her paper "Phonetic Convergence in Multiple Features," which compares patterns of convergence across different phonetic features.
