Cornell University is located in Ithaca, New York, at the south end of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region.

Travel

By air: The closest airport is Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport, a ten-minute drive from the campus (slightly more from downtown). Telephones to local taxi services are available upon arrival, and in the daytime during the week, the Route 31 city bus stops outside about once per hour. Also not too far away is Syracuse Hancock International Airport, a drive of about an hour and a half to the northeast. Taxis from Syracuse to Ithaca tend to be expensive (in the range of $130), but cheaper rides to Ithaca (about $60 per person for one way) can be arranged ahead of time with Ithaca Airline Limousine. Information on travelling to and from other airports in the region can be found at Cornell's main travel-information page.

By bus: Ithaca's bus station (located just west of downtown, a five- to ten-minute drive from Cornell) is serviced by several bus companies. Greyhound stops here, as does Short Line Bus, which offers regional connections within New York and New Jersey. Cornell's own Campus-to-Campus bus offers luxury coach rides between New York City and Ithaca ($82.50 one-way, $165 round-trip)

By train: Ithaca does not have an Amtrak station; the nearest stop is in Syracuse. Again, taxis from Syracuse to Ithaca are generally on the pricey side, but the more-affordable Ithaca Airline Limousine does pick up from the Syracuse train station. Daily bus service at 5:00 PM on Trailways is available.

By car: Driving directions to the campus can be found at Cornell's main travel-information page. Parking on campus is generally by permit only, but metered lots are open to everyone.
